Testinium Test Transformation

Agile testing has become a critical part of application lifecycles and has had a significant impact on software development, testing, and quality assurance. In the agile world, teams are expected to move faster than before. At the same time, the quality of the product is expected to increase, while product development time is increasingly shortened. At the same time, they are faced with increased pressure to reduce testing costs.

In the agile approach, it was necessary to start testing at the earliest stage in the development life cycle. This movement in the testing world is commonly known as “shifting left”. As Testinium, we believe and apply this methodology.

Traditional Testing Method vs Agile Software Testing

The aim of the person performing the test in two methods is to ensure that the product reaches the customer in the best quality possible. In the traditional waterfall method:

In this method, one cannot proceed to the next before one step is completed. Testing begins towards the end of the process. Bugs caught so late in the process are difficult and costly to eradicate from the product.

In this method, testers cannot ask the right questions and test the product correctly. Because they get feedback from the development team and the end-user too late. Since the testing does not start at the earliest stage of the process, bugs are getting very difficult to manage and catch.

Agile Testing Quadrants

Development teams that are transitioning to agile processes may experience difficulties regarding which test they will do at which stage. Some questions like which type of test should be run at which stage, when it should be run, which side mostly used which tests and etc. are starting to arise. We always use agile test quadrants to handle these questions.

Q1 - Automated

Usually handled by the developer, they are designed to improve the product code. Allows the team to find the bugs/problems that may occur at the earliest level.

Q2 - Automated & Manualnua

It is the design of the tests of the product that will appear as if it is being tested from the eyes of the end-user. It would reveal the business value of the product.

Q3 - Manualnu

It is done to give feedback to q1 and q2.

Q4 - Tools

It is done to give feedback to q1 and q2.

More Agile. More Efficient. Better Quality

Training & Assessment

Based on all these, we make inception and POC to learn how many companies apply each step in agile quadrants where we will do agile test transformation. We reveal the bottlenecks, the mistakes in the practices, and the actions that will provide culture change in these works we do. We make a discovery with the question set we prepared in the first stage and then we present our proposals and solution suggestions with the data we collect.

While training our own staff, we train them according to the Agile culture, we share and cultivate this culture with our teammates we will work with. While doing these, we technically support them and provide enablement.
